Tidal waves

Unable to control myself,
I crash into him,
Like a tidal wave.
We roll around, bodies strewn about,
a mess we did make,
Like a tidal wave.
Together we destroy pressed sheets,
now bundles of fabric upon the floor,
Like a tidal wave.
The quiet that once surrounded us,
now a thunderous rush of moans and wails,
Like a tidal wave.
Once peaceful bodies;
enraged with passion,
grew the size of mountains,
Like a tidal wave.
Thrashing, banging, pulling,
leaving sweat in our wake,
Like a tidal wave.
Like that tidal wave everything is left wet and moist.
This tidal wave has taken the stress,
the pain,
and all that remains,
the calm after the storm,
two bodies linked as one as they slept,
after the tidal wave.

  1. “and all that remains is the calm after the storm,

Loved these lines and the comparison to a tidal wave. The next visit to the sea-side is going to be peppered with interesting thoughts 🙂
